Great Paella at Abrassame Restaurant
Reasonably priced paella in the city center of Barcelona
One of the things I have personally struggled in the city center of Barcelona is finding good local restaurants at a reasonable price. Especially when I bring friends along that are stubborn to get to places that are not within walking distance of Las Ramblas. Yes, I know, it is a tourist area hence things will be more expensive. I guess I ‘ve gotten used to spending 10 EUR for a 2 -3-course meal in the small towns of Spain.
Surprisingly, I came across Abrassame a well-priced restaurant located in the former bull arena which is now a shopping mall. This restaurant is located on the top of the arena with an indoor and outdoor area. Best of all it can be accessed by a lift located outside the main entrance of the mall. The view from the outdoor area is breathtaking especially in the evening when the city is fully lit up.
The outdoor sitting is great to enjoy in the summer time. Even while is hot outside the cool soft breeze in the evening makes it feel like a natural AC.
It’s really hard to find well-priced paellas in the city center of Barcelona and not only that but one that tastes good as well. The one at Abrassame definitely made the cut, with a substantial amount of seafood and one serving is to share.
It might not look great, but the taste of it is a delight.
Not a big fan of fried vegetables but those who came with me loved it. But they made a great appetizer.
The indoor of Abrassame feels like a club with an atmosphere that turns up, I wonder if it does. Abrassame has an amazing atmosphere and the Paella was far delicious and for the price we paid for it, it was all worth it.
Bad customer service is one of the things Spain is known for, which is contradicting because Spaniards are one of the nicest people I know. Nevertheless, the service received was outstanding.
