W New York Downtown Hotel
EXTREME WOW SUITE
The W New York Downtown Hotel is one of the most modern and chic hotels in town. It provides its guests with a young and fresh atmosphere while it still conserves its business environment that attracts many of its guests. I consider this hotel a place where business meets pleasure.
Aside from the fantastic room, excellent business facilities and comprehensive gym. The W New York Downtown Hotel has a particular lobby called the living room that seeks to create a lounge atmosphere rather than the typical hotel lobby. Even though this is common among the W Hotels, what makes this one unique is that in the evenings it gets lively especially on the weekend it turns up with their live DJs.
The hotel has a terrace that overlooks the One World Tower and part of ground zero. In the winter time is covered, but in the summer time is fully open giving a great view of Downtown Manhattan.
Lobby “Living Room”
The lobby, also known as the living room, is decorated in the form of a lounge/club giving it a very relaxed feeling where you can lounge and relax.
The living room also has a full-service bar, with a great happy hour special. Their cocktails are fantastic they can virtually request anything from a mojito to a Moscow mule.
The W New York Downtown Hotel has a comprehensive gym. All of the equipment you need to continue your workout routine. Best of all it is not used by many, the times I’ve visited the gym no one was there which was awesome to workout with privacy.
Extreme Wow Suite
The room is very spacious with a minimalistic decor and a panoramic view of Downtown Manhattan.
The Bathroom has an open plan design where you can see everything, but it still has its privacy blinds and doors.
Unlike the other Extreme Wow Suites in other locations, this one is one is smaller than usual with a very simplistic design. Instead of the standard dining table, it has a table with two seats, a couch, and very minimal decoration.
I am not so impressed with the Extreme Wow Suite I truly expected a lot better. I understand that hotel targets businesspeople but for what brand carries out it’s a bit too dull. On the other hand, the common areas, are fantastic one of the best one I’ve seen within the chain.
In comparison to other hotels in the area, I have a preference to this one but not the suite. The hotel has a great bar, relaxing living space, and restaurant has good food (although it is currently closed).
